OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY ETHICALLY-PRODUCED, CREATIVE MUSIC EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES THAT ARE EARTH FRIENDLY. WE ARE COMMITTED TO MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON OUR PLANET AND IN OUR COMMUNITIES.
Bamboo has been called the earth’s walking stick because it is one of the planet’s most renewable resources. It’s actually a grass and can grow up to 6 centimetres a day. It’s super strong and flexible and is used throughout Asia as scaffolding. People have used bamboo to make musical instruments for hundreds of years for its beautiful natural tone.
As we continue to use much of the planets non-sustainable resources the benefits of bamboo are becoming increasingly evident. It can be processed into many different materials for use in furniture, clothes and even charcoal for cooking.
We’re very proud to be manufacturing in such a positive way and have partnered with the amazing team at the East Bali Poverty Project who are experts in bamboo agriculture & technology. Each shoot has to be dried for over a year and treated carefully to avoid infestation.
Our regenerative programme means that we replace at least what we use so when you purchase a Bambajam you are assured that you’ve purchased responsibly. We even give you the GPS co-ordinates of the bamboo we’ve planted on your behalf!

THE MAKING OF BAMBAJAM. FROM BAMBOO FORESTS IN BALI TO THE WORLD.
Working with expert artisans in communities where bamboo and musical instrument making is part of daily culture ensures that we are bringing incredible quality and tone to our instruments.
We also are ensuring that the craftsmanship of generations is not lost. Our master artisan is passing on his craft to younger artisans to ensure his skills and trade are not lost.
Every instrument is lovingly handcrafted and perfectly toned. A student will feel the incredible power and love that each piece of bamboo resonates.
